Welcome to our Nursery page! We aim to offer our children a warm and friendly environment in which our youngest can take their very first steps of their school journey.

We accept pupils from three years old (the term after their third birthday) and have multiple intakes to a maximum capacity of 26.

Our school offers 30 hours free childcare to working parents and 15 hours free childcare to all. Additional session prices are very reasonably priced and access is provided to all pupils from 3 year old to extended school provision which includes breakfast club (7.30-8.00am) , after school club (3.30-5.30pm) and holiday clubs (during Easter and Summer holidays).

Our experienced team consists of Nursery Teacher Mrs Wright, Higher Level Teaching Assistants Miss Murfin and Mrs Beck and Teaching Assistants  Mrs Jackson and Miss Shortreed, who work together in providing our children with a wide range of fun and stimulating opportunities that will help them learn, develop and reach their full potential.

Mrs Wright is a very experienced practitioner, having been involved in the initial pilot of the Early Years Foundation Stage working in partnership with the Early Excellence Centre in Halifax. She who has worked in a range of schools in the North Yorkshire and Calderdale area and is  Reception, Year One and Year Two experienced. As such Mrs Wright understands the curriculum requirements needed for when pupils advance further up the school. Mrs Wright has also served as a recognised North Yorkshire Early Years Lead Teacher. She is also a Certified Computer Master Teacher and has wider school responsibility for Computing in the school.

Mrs Wright is on the School Leadership Team as our Early Years Coordinator and oversees standards in both Nursery and Reception.

The main of the Nursery setting is to provide children with the fundamental skills they will need to successfully advance through the school. This includes personal and social skills, key knowledge and skills in early literacy and numeracy as well as understanding fo the wider world.

Our school offers a Nursery Lunch Club in which children are taught table etiquette and are closely guided by our experienced Lunch Club team (Teaching Assistants Mrs Woodrow and Mrs Jackson).

Parent communications include a weekly newsletter and regular daily contact through first hand parent communications and our online Tapestry page.

Our Early Years practice has been acknowledged as a strength of the school in previous Ofsted Inspections and we take pride in the outstanding care and guidance we offer to our pupils. We enjoy working with parents and making sure that each child feels safe and secure in their environment.

We hope you will use this page to find out about all that we are learning (and of course the fun that we are having) each week!

A copy of the EYFS newsletter to parents has been placed on the school website for ease of reference as well as being emailed directly to families.
