NFU - National STEM Finalists 2019- we are going to the House of Commons to showcase our work!

Special Announcement !

Settle Primary School Children in Year One have been recognised from over 1,000 entries to become National Finalists in the National Farmers Union STEM “FARMVENTION AWARDS”.

We are the only school in Yorkshire to be acknowledged and so in effect will represent the Yorkshire region as well as North Craven or North Yorkshire in the grand finals.

In recognition of the innovative work carried out by children in Year One and with help from staff and digital leaders we have been invited to travel to London to showcase our work at the House of Commons in London during British Science Week in March! The children in Year One have also won the prize of visiting a local farm and have received £600 to further develop STEM resources at the school.

What a great start to 2019 and a brilliant way to build on the momentum of last years success in the Rolls Royce Science Prize.

A special thanks to STEM leaders and staff Miss Entwistle , Miss Wright and Mrs Woodrow and our technician Mr Freytag.
