Pupils in Year 6 are provided with professional homework folders and Settle Primary School homework planners to help them to organise their homework. We also provide an after school homework club, run by Miss Segger and Miss Thompson (currently on a Thursday from 3.30-4.30pm), where children have access to computers, ipads, books, study guides and other resources - free juice and biscuits included! Children have small 'Study Guide' books with tips and reminders to help with the above and MyMaths has interactive lessons for any areas children might be struggling with. They can also practise times tables and mental recall using Sumdog and Times Tables Rockstars:
Children will occasionally be set reading tasks, in addition to their own regular independent reading.
They will also be set set weekly grammar quizzes to complete on the Spag.com.
Children have small grammar revision booklets to support their grammar work, SAS spelling booklets with tricky statutory words from curriculum and will also be sent home weekly spelling sheets on a Monday (tested on a Friday).
