We began this week by sharing all the fun that we have been up to during the half-term holiday. It sounds like everyone has enjoyed the sunshine! Luckily the sun has continued to shine this week and we have been able to make the most of playing outside, including making dens, practicing our ball skills and hunting for minibeasts! This week we have welcomed some new additions to Nursery - we have our own class caterpillars! We have learned all about the life cycle of a caterpillar, and know that when the caterpillars are big enough they will make themselves a cocoon then emerge as butterflies! We are looking forward to seeing these changes happen! We have read the Very Hungry Caterpillar this week and have made our own booklets, thinking about which foods the caterpillar ate on which days. We have also watched films about caterpillars and butterflies to help us learn all about them and we have made our own caterpillar pictures, using an apple to print. We have learned that butterflies have symmetrical wings, and we used paint to help us make our own symmetrical butterflies! We have also talked about how caterpillar begins with the sound 'c' and we have talked about other words that begin with the sound c. I wonder if you might spot any caterpillars or other minibeasts when you are out and about this weekend?
