Mr Richard Wright, Executive Headteacher

Settle Church of England Primary School is a place where pupils and staff "grow and learn together and where all children are loved, valued and flourish to achieve their potential" .

Settle Church of England Primary is a forward thinking, dynamic school that currently caters for children ages 3-11. We have approximately 222 pupils on roll , including Nursery Provision for up to 26 pupils. We are currently in a formal Federation Partnership with nearby Kirkby-in-Malhamdale Primary School and I am in the fortunate position of being the shared, Executive Headteacher.

In both our recent Ofsted and SIAMS Church Inspection Reports, the school has been judged as GOOD with relationships between school and community being observed as a strength of the school.

‘Christian love permeates the life of the school and positive relationships have a significant impact on the wider community.’ (SIAMS report January 2023)

Settle CE Primary school has a strong Christian ethos and prides itself on it's Care and Guidance and promoting Christian Values.  As a Christian School we have a strong focus on promoting  fairness, treating others as you would like to be treated, demonstrating a capacity for forgiveness and respecting other faiths, beliefs and cultures.

In our Federation we greatly value the relationships we form with our children and families and the role we have in supporting our local communities. We always expect the children to come first in any decision making and for them to always be treated with respect, empathy and kindness.  We work hard to provide an extensive range of opportunities for the children and seek to provide a broad and extensive curriculum provision though our Curriculum for Life opportunities. We want all our children to feel safe, to enjoy learning and to flourish as confident strong individuals. As highlighted in our recent SIAMS Inspection (January 2023) we take a pride that pupils, "are confident and resilient in their learning".

We have a very successful Early Years Foundation Stage (teacher led Nursery and Reception) and we offer eligible working families 30 hours of free childcare on site as well as a breakfast club (open from 7.30am) , after school club (3.30-5.30pm) and holiday club (Easter and Summer) for busy parents at family friendly, very affordable prices.
